京漆器の技術と伝統を次世代に受け継ぐため、木地師と塗師、漆精製師、木材生産者らが知恵と力を合わせ、私たちの暮らしに寄り添う現代のアサギ椀が生まれました。
アサギ椀は人と人をつなぎ、森の再生にも貢献しています。

飯島勇介
1986年福井県敦賀市出身 北海道ニセコ町で物作り体験指導員として就職。 仕事をする中で「もっと自分の作ったモノを多くの人に使ってもらいたい」と思い退職。 2014年に京都伝統工芸大学校蒔絵科に入学。 2016年卒業後三代西村圭功に師事。

永井 綾
1983年広島県生まれ京都府在住 2017年 西村圭功漆工房に弟子入り 轆轤木地師西村直木氏の元へ出向、仕事を教わる 2022年 独立（轆轤木地屋） 直木さんの内側の形への意識、線を見る眼、感覚。丁寧な仕事を怠らない事を続けてきた姿を、心に留めて木地の仕事へ向かう只中です。

上田 量啓（ウエダ カズヒロ ）
1991年 京都府京都市出身 2015年 京都造形芸術大学 環境デザイン学科 建築コース 卒業 2018年 岐阜県立森林文化アカデミー クリエイター科 木工コース卒業 同年 西村圭功漆工房に弟子入り 2023年 独立、上田ロクロ木工房を開業 京都で脈々と受け継がれてきたロクロ木地技術の継承者。 修得した技術を活かして社会問題に取り組むモノ作りを目指している。 現在は、日本中で持て余されており花粉症など健康被害を出しているスギ、ヒノキを有効活用した器作りと、自身が4年半の不登校、引きこもり経験者である事から、木工を通じて同じ境遇の子供達の心をケアする活動をしている。

西村圭功（ニシムラケイコウ）
1966年上塗師二代圭功の長男として京都に生まれる。三代鈴木表朔氏に師事。1994年家業の跡継ぎとして独立。西村圭功漆工房代表。 脈々と続く木村表斎を祖とする京漆器の技術「表派」の継承者。その技術を次世代に繋ぐため若手育成に力を注ぐ。
The Asagi Bowl, once a staple among the common folk of Kyoto, has been reimagined for the modern age. Woodworkers, lacquerers, and material producers have combined their skills and ingenuity to pass on the venerable techniques and traditions of Kyoto lacquerware. The result is a contemporary Asagi Bowl that brings people together and contributes to forest sustainability.
ARTIST PROFILES
Yusuke Iijima
Born 1986 in Tsuruga, Fukui Prefecture. Originally employed in Niseko, Hokkaido as a craft instructor. Left the job with the desire to have more people use his creations. Enrolled in Kyoto Traditional Arts College in 2014, specializing in makie (gold lacquer), and graduated in 2016. Currently apprenticed to Keikou Nishimura.

Kumi Goto
Born 1994 in Tokushima Prefecture. Graduated from the lacquer course at Kyoto Traditional Arts College in 2015, and completed advanced studies at the Kyoto Municipal Industrial Technology Research Institute in 2017. Apprenticed to Keikou Nishimura and became independent in 2022. Continually refines her skills while exploring her personal aesthetic.

Aya Nagai
Born 1983 in Hiroshima, now residing in Kyoto. Apprenticed at Keikou Nishimura’s lacquer workshop in 2017. Independently established as a lathe woodworker in 2022, she values careful craftsmanship and is devoted to her woodwork.

Kazuhiro Ueda
Born 1991 in Kyoto. Graduated from the Architecture Course at Kyoto University of Art and Design in 2015, and from the Woodworking Course at Gifu Prefectural Forest Culture Academy in 2018. Became independent in 2023, opening Ueda Lathe Woodworking. Committed to social issues through woodworking, particularly focusing on the effective use of cedar and cypress trees that are otherwise causing health problems like hay fever. He also works to support children with similar reclusive tendencies, drawing from his own 4.5-year experience with school withdrawal.

Keikou Nishimura
Born 1966 in Kyoto as the eldest son of the second-generation master craftsman Keikou. Apprenticed under Suzuki Hyosaku of the third generation. Became independent in 1994 as the representative of Nishimura Keikou Lacquer Workshop. A successor to the Omote school of Kyoto lacquerware techniques, he is dedicated to training the younger generation to ensure the skills are passed on.
